Starwood Complete First Video - World Premiere on Launch/Yahoo

Starwood complete first video for the song (Subculture) from their debut release If it aint broke, break it!

The video for subculture represents all of the attitude from ‘If it aint broke, break it!’ straight up, faster then the eye can see visions of Hollywood. From the clubs to the streets, this is the ‘first look’ of what the song subculture and the band Starwood is all about.

“We were born and raised here. When we were looking for a concept for this video we soon realized we didn’t need one, we already live in one. Hollywood is the greatest concept there is. We just pointed a camera at it and pulled the trigger! Everything that song has to say lyrically was at the other end of that camera. This was just a postcard from our backyard to the rest of the world” states Lizzy, lead singer for the band.

Final editing of the video was completed just as Starwood came back from Japan in time for the show at the House of Blues Sunset Strip with UFO on November 15th. Note: this is an early show (8:15 pm)

Starwood’s new video for the song Subculture can be viewed here

STARWOOD TO LAUNCH TOUR FOR "IF IT AIN’T BROKE, BREAK IT!" WITH CONCERTS IN HOLLYWOOD & U.K.

Band Prepares for Shows with UFO & Vince Neil as First Video, "Subculture," Nears Completion.

Starwood fans are about to get the big "break" they deserve: the Metal Blade recording artists have confirmed they will begin a world tour for their label debut, If It Ain’t Broke, Break It! in their hometown - Hollywood, California - on November 15, sharing the bill at the House of Blues Sunset Strip with the legendary UFO. The next day, Starwood is off to the U.K. for a series of dates with Vince Neil.

The tour announcement comes just as Starwood is shooting the first video from If It Ain’t Broke, Break It! According to vocalist/guitarist Lizzy, who produced the recording with band mate Joey Scott (drums & percussion/backing vocals), the song, "Subculture," is an invitation to those who will never be in the
elite of society to join Starwood and others like them in the subculture of Hollywood.

The video mixes performance footage with scenes celebrating the Hollywood scene Starwood celebrates in their music. "Subculture" is just one of several tracks on If It Ain’t Broke, Break It! garnering nationwide airplay and favorable notices. Others include "All My Girlfriends Have Boyfriends," "What’s Your Damage" and "Backlash."

"A simply entertaining disc of high octane pop metal material…Starwood plays it like it is with songs that…kick you in the ass and might even get your head banging," states the Music Connection, adding: "This is an album for anyone who kneels before the Gods for the return of carefree arena rock." According
to Metal Edge, Starwood "leans heavily to ‘70s era icons like KISS, Cheap Trick and New York Dolls, but they pummel forth in a very sleazier version of the above. The production is very raw yet polished in all the right spots making it a very strong rock record." Crave claims If Ain’t Broke, Break It! boasts "an impressive old school rock feel" and hopes Starwood is "the band that brings back those Hollywood rock bands that got swept away so many years ago," while Metal Invader comes right to the point: "simple ‘70s-style, goodtime RNR, glamy, sleazy and filthy as hell, catchy, full of simple hooks and driving rhythms with attitude that kicks ya in the face."

Lizzy says he chose to name the band after the famed ‘70s Hollywood club because the Starwood was where fans started seeing metal, but the venue continued to host shows by rock, pop and punk bands, all elements that can be heard in the band’s music. Along with Lizzy and Joey Scott, Starwood features Marten Andersson on bass and backing vocals and Joe Steals on lead rhythm and slide guitars and backing vocals. Starwood is planning an extensive tour for the new year.

Starwood's debut release "If It Ain't Broke, Break It!" received a 5 star rating on RocknWorld.com's review section. Other bands to have reached the 5 star rating recently are The Darkness, Sparta, HIM, and The Vines. The band was also featured in the Day In Rock section by AntiMusic where they occasionally highlight a standout CD on the day of release. The last CD featured was The Cure's new self-titled album.

Hollywood’s own Starwood release their debut record this month on Metalblade records, if it ain’t broke, break it! July-27th (Available October, 4th on Metal Blade Records Europe/Japan!)

All of the fun, the decadence and attitude are well represented by L.A.’s newest offspring, Starwood.

If It Ain't Broke, Break It! Is one of the finest debut records any band has ever offered. Starwood’s unique sound is a strong blend of musical influences with everything from punk to metal to good old rock ‘n’ roll

This record is riff lettered with disobedient little feedback induced rock and roll bangers. Songs that herald Starwood’s place among the ranks of today’s hottest rock acts.

If It Ain't Broke, Break It! Captures the musical feel of rock icons like Cheap Trick and Kiss and couples it with the raw energy of bands like The New York Dolls resulting in a record that comfortably rests among the likes of the Darkness and Velvet Revolver.

Starwood gets their name from a 70’s rock club in Hollywood that did not discriminate, any given night they had rock, metal, pop and punk and everything in-between. Starwood’s desire is to emulate that feeling with the songs on their debut record.

Song titles include:

Subculture

Won’t back down
What’s you’re Damage
All my girlfriends have boyfriends
Social Zero
If it ain’t broke, break it!
Backlash
You’re so real
Bad Machine

Available on metalblade Records USA now and October 4th on Metal Blade Records Europe
