LIZZY, Alex & Joey..(STARWOOD), As everyone else has said in surprise at one time then literally turned to shock-mode, I am in awe myself, kinda cumbersome just thinking this should have occurred. I used to run with Tracy Cannon at the Rainbow in the 80's and dated Alex maybe once or twice, then my dad takes me to surprise me 15yrs later when you guys were booked at Pinkys in Vegas..and we all kinda met up again, but really cool for Alex and I to hang out..that to was a shocker on my dads part. REmember you had to drive me home LIZ and I couldn't remember where dads house was because I had just moved back to Vegas from modeling in Venezuela for 10 yrs. Anyone he was cracking up in the backseat so hard he almost yakked everywhere because we were all bitching "typical chick stuff" and dada guided you in. (All in hungover fun, you went to Rah'Luxor same night)!! I came out to LA a few times to see him and life got busy for both again or changed...but I still heard from him once in a blue moon...can someone please contact me and and just ....help me to not be so shocked. What a legend in riffs and appeal and presence...LIZZY (which i still have evry album covered) you are the ICON for METAL..you did bring it to the feast-table? Joey so rocks the drums..as STARWOOD you made a great solid base again...we got PRIEST back 2gether getting rave reviews from Playboy...I get so sik of hearing how metal is outta-hea! It's slithering it's cool-hissing ass coiled-right in the same spot where it has aquired such a rancid deadly vile powerfully poisonous rampage that he must smile in decadence...who or what wouldn't when you have LIZZY as an antedote to rejuv METAL once and for all!! I love you always LIZZY, and Alex lets connect pls...Tirrza Thompson Las Vegas

Hola fanaticos de Lizzy Borden: Les escribo desde Chile, Sudamerica para unirme a las condolencias, realmente Alex era un gran gran guitarrista y todos lo vamos a extrañar mucho. For all who doesn´t understand spanish I say: Alex was great so as Lizzy Borden. I´ll never have the chance to see them live but well, these are the problems for living in Chile, South America. Anyway, I am a real fan and I send you all a big hug. Im sure that Alex is now rocking in Heaven, where he belongs!!!

Hi Again Guys, I just wanted to know if you have any shows coming up this summer. I live on the East coast, but will travel to the West if you're playing any venues in the L.A area. Always a fan & a lover of your melodic voice.......... Lizzy Borden, ur sound-a-like...Gina C. aka "Mistress of Disguise"

I'm so sorry about Alex's passing. Obviously it's been a while since I checked the Lizzy Borden website. I was looking to see if there were any new tour dates scheduled when I found out about Alex. I've been a Lizzy Borden fan since the 80's. I pretty much grew up listening to Borden. A few years ago, I got to see the band play near Albany NY opening up for Yngwie Malmsteen. Lizzy and crew rocked, but we wound up walking out on Malmsteen because he was playing too loud. That was the only time I've seen Lizzy Borden play live, and it was an awesome show. Alex played a mean guitar, and he will surely be missed by many. I truly hope that Lizzy Borden will continue forward. The world needs good old American Metal, and no one does a better job of supplying it than Lizzy Borden!

Dear Lizzy, Starwood is decent music and I like the CD, but its not "Lizzy Borden" Music. I know there are reports that you decided to possibly end "Lizzy Borden" the band, but please do not. I grew up on Lizzy Borden and was finally able to see you/them in 2001 and I really hope I will one day see you/them again. Thanks DougO

I haven't visited this site in some time. I have been a long time lizzy fan and I am very sad to hear the passing of Alex. I met all of the guys a few times through the years; most recently in NJ at the Yngwie show. I've been a huge fan since seeing them in Philly at the visual lies tour and have the original vinal of "the murderous metal road show" (and VHS). Also seen several shows from the master of disguise days. Everyone was very friendly and appreciated the fans. Their music will forever be an original and will always be in my heart and soul. my condolences K. Hertz

my name is lisa polovich I am very sorry to hear alex has passed. I met him at a show in Pittsburgh in oakland at the Beehive theatre. His band lizzy Borden Played. Alex and I stayed together the whole night at the show and hugged and laughed. He was a sweetheart with a big smile and very knowlegeable about music. We'd email back and forth to the next time we'd met again. I know he's in heaven. Love ladyredlight, your friend. God bless and watch over you and rest in peaceful fields. All my sympathy/prayers to the family. Lizzy borden stay strong, remember the memories never fade, they live on!

I was saddened to hear that Alex left this world, but as we all know, when we have accomplished what we set out to do here, then it is time to move to our next set of challenges in another plane. I'm sure that a spirit such as his will accomplish great things there, just as he did here. We are fortunate that he is truly immortal through the recordings. I was proud to be one of the opening acts who had the opportunity to share the stage with you back in '90-'91 in Salt Lake City. I have loved all your work and aspire to be as good at this as you are. Your creativity and attention to detail have inspired me many times over. I consider you to be one of my mentors through your music as I'm sure do many, many others. Please accept my sympathies. Wesley James

I was searching for Lizzy's official site to find news about the band and what do I find? Surely the last thing I expected to read. I think the mates that have written before me have said it all so I only have to send my condolences from Spain to alex family and to the rest of the band....yes, Spain, you guys must know that your music is still alive here in Madrid, and so will be while I'm here. You've done good to much more people than you thought, so be strong and have faith, as I have in you. Don't give up!!!

I just now found out about this terribly sad news. How unfortunate this is. I didn't know Alex personally, but he was an extraordinarily talented guitar player. The metal world will not be the same without him.

Wow… I am quite shocked. I came to know Alex Nelson and his band-mates when they played the Mason Jar in Phoenix, AZ about 2 years ago. I was doing the live recording at the time. I still have a recording that Alex played my guitar on. They were playing the Jar in Phoenix and I got a call from a friend that Lizzy Borden was in town and the guitarist needed a Jackson guitar for the show because his guitars never made it from the last gig. He played my Guitar like a genius, and was kind enough to sign it after the gig. I believe that his “girlfriend or wife?” drove his guitars in later on that night. We wound up hanging out on the bus after the show having some drinks while we listened to the “raw” recording tracks from the show. I called him several times after the recording and we had a couple of great conversations about guitar “tone” .We actually had made some plans to record again and we lost touch. I don’t know how he died, but I know that he was a great guy and a great player. This was surely the LAST thing that I expected to see on the website. I have never actually visited it before. I just want everyone to know that he really made a positive impact on my life. I know that even though I didn’t really get to be close friends with him, I know that he had deep feelings for his family. Myself and my Wife wish to pass on our most sincere condolences and best wishes for his family and to the band Lizzy Borden. The world will be a darker place without his spirit and music. He is a great loss as a musician, and a kind and insightful person. Sincerely, Alex and Sherri

hmmm! I think my post on here was banned, that's ok, I see how it is now... I can't believe I've had to wait 20 years to meet two guys in this band, that's supposed to be my family! I guess their fans means much than that to them. anyway! I wanted to find out why only a few Lizzy Borden CD's were remastered.... it would be cool to have the classic full set of the 80's stuff together from Lizzy Borden.

My deepest condolences for Alex's family. I had the pleasure of meeting the band in April 2002 when they played at the Roadhouse in Sacramento, CA. Alex was a total sweetheart, we talked for a few hours after the show - I couldn't believe how down to earth he was and how nice he was to the fans...... he will be missed. I have quite a few pictures of Alex and the band at that show if Alex's mom and Angel are interested - I would be happy to mail you the copies I have. Please send me an email or post here and I will send them to you. Take care and RIP Alex. Hugs, Melissa

Well Yngwie was taking forever to come out and I noticed Alex at the bar. we talked for a bit and had a drink. He was a very genuine and funny person recanting how touring w/ Yngwie was a challenge due to the constant drama between Yngwie and his band. He was very amusing. Alex you will be missed and the spirit world has gained a new voice for their chant. Good Luck on the other side.

All, I remember hearing about Lizzy Borden in high school, never saw them. I'm 33 and finally saw them 2 years ago. It was a super performance and since then I have went to buy all of their cd's and any other material for collecting. I remember telling Alex after the show, he blew me away with his playing. He was great! He was also a humble down to earth person to talk to as well, super respectful. I would like to say to his family, bandmates and closest friends I'm very sorry to hear this and that I pray God will Bless and keep you strong. Alex's name and music will carry on. -Lance

I am Alex's cousin from Columbus, Ohio. Even though Alex and I lived far away from eachother, and didn't get to see one another a lot, I still loved him and admired him. He was always very kind to me, and I will never forget the time when I was 9 years old and he took me on my first roller coaster ride. And in 1999, he took time from his busy schedule and caught a flight to Ohio to attend my wedding. Seeing him there and knowing the effort he made to get there was the best wedding gift I received. Unfortunately that was the last time I saw him. I couldn't go to his funeral so reading all of these entries and seeing how so many of you loved him has been comforting. I feel at least I got to know him a little better, and see how many lives he touched with his music and his friendship. I will miss him terribly.

Here's a review written by Alex I just read at the at the Dean Guitars site. God bless him. Subject: Lizzy Borden Forgot to tell ya... The turn out for the Yngwie shows varied between 600 to 1000 persons per night.I got alot of compliments from fans every night regarding the beauty and sound of the EVO Premium after the shows. PeopIe asking: "What was that guitar you were playing the second half of the set?". I love the guitar -it's absolutely awesome. What are the chances of getting a customized white strat body before the next summer tour (July/August) ? Also, we may be doing two weeks in Europe in June..... is that too soon? -Alex Nelson - Lizzy Borden http://www.deanguitars.com/letters.php

This must be said for Angel. To see that in your time of grief, you took the time to come here and in some way try to console us is abosuletly amazing. Alex told me many times how special you are, and now I have been fortunate enough to see how right he was. You are a truly giving spirit and I am so sorry for your loss. My heart misses my friend, but my heart also aches for you. You truly were his Angel on earth. I know Alex will be watching over you now, so that is some relief. Take care of yourself and know that we are here to help you in any way possible. Thank you for your kindness and thougtfullness in such a heart wrenching time for you. Alex was a friend, and in being so anyone he chose to spend eternity with is a friend as well. My thoughts and prayers are with you as always. Elena

My deepest heart felt sympathies go out to the friends, family and lovely new wife of Alex. I only knew Alex through his programming/computer consulting career. We became friends and I am so terribly saddened by his loss. I was devistated that I could not make the funeral, but am trying to deal with his loss. Finding this page has made that process easier. I've read through the several comments and is so nice to read all the many people and lives he's touched. Alex, I will miss you. Love to all the family. Sincerely, Tracey

When the warmth of the sun touches my face, I see your smile and feel your embrace. I hear the whisper of love in the wind And I know that you are close to me again The rain speaks of tears and the thunder of pain, But soon the sun comes the earth to reclaim. As the days come and go and the world moves on, I know you're still here, you'll never be gone. On the night the Angels came and took your hand, We cried as you left for an unknown land. But Heaven rejoiced as you came into sight, For your soul was a diamond, shining so bright Next to love..sympathy is the most diving passion of the human heart. Thank you to all for your over pouring support and well wishes. My love, my soul mate, my divine man of kindred spirit is now at rest and shining upon us all. Love, Angel Nelson

My deepest condoleances to Alex's family & friends. I've been a LB fan since 1985 but never had the chance to see the band live. Alex was indeed an important element and he will be missed. May he play and rest in Peace forever. Wherever he is. Thanks for all the listening pleasure. Laurent, Limassol (Cyprus)

Lizzy Borden was/is and always will be one of my favorite bands ever and Alex was a big reason why I loved the band so much. I've been fortunate enough to see Alex play with Lizzy 3 times live in Detroit and his live presence was just as awe inspiring as his playing on the albums. I'm sorry you had to be taken so soon. My condolences to his family, friends and bandmates. You will live each and every time I spin those Lizzy Borden albums. Thank you for the fun times! Britton. Caro, Michigan.

I want to say a big THANK YOU to Lizzy, Joey & Jackie and Marten. You have made this time of loss more bearable and even special. Even in the most tragic of times you were all able to reach out and comfort others...especially me. My thoughts and prayers are with you. If you need anything....I'm here. I love you all. Alex, I will miss you dearly, RIP my friend. Sundae Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free I’m following the path God has laid you see. I took His hand when I heard him call I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work, to play. Tasks left undone must stay that way I found that peace at the close of day. If my parting has left a void Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss Oh yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life’s been full, I savored much Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and peace to thee God wanted me now; He set me free.

I am not that familiar with Lizzy B nor did I know this poor fellow who I pray is at peace now .. So despite not knowing the partics., I still wanted to offer my deepest condolences and prayers for all those who loved him. Whether you know the folks or not.. losing someone who is like family, esp. another musician, is something we ALL can empathize with and it has happened to me more times than I care to count. So please accept my prayers, hugs , and positive thoughts for Alex's soul and for the ones who loved him who are left to go on-- hopefully that going on as the time goes by will get less and less painful and become fonder memories of having the man in your life for as long as God allowed you to do so. Alex was a good friend and co-worker. We had a great time working together when he was a computer programmer at Barco Graphics. I will always remember him as a kind, sweet guy who could always make you laugh. I will always remember San Antonio, where after a long day of meetings, Alex brought out his guitar and entertained all his co-workers. What a great time sitting around drinking beer, singing and laughing. My condolences go out to Angel, his family and band mates. I will miss you my friend! Shannon

Alex was a very good friend to me and to most that knew him. He kept me up to date on how he and Angel were doing and about the adventures of just being him. I am going to miss that, his excitement about the life he had. Not being able to attend the funeral was a huge dissappointment for me. I can sleep at night knowing that while he was with us he had an Angel on earth, and now he is one. Having the pleasure of calling him friend was my honor. He was very proud to have the support system that he did, and he knew he was truly loved. I miss my friend, but not knowing him would have been the true tragedy. I can only feel blessed that I was fortunate enough to have him as my friend. A piece of me is gone, but not forgotten. My heart is with the rest of you, his family, his friends, his fans. Until we meet again. Elena

Real sorry about Joey! He was a great guitarist! It's a complete and total tragedy and I extend my deepest condolences to everyone-Lizzy and the other Borden boys, Angel, all of Joey's fans, friends, family, and loved ones. I'm a big Lizzy Borden fan and was very sad to learn the horrible news! I am happy to hear, however, that it was not alcohol related as we all thought at first. Where did that idea come from? Who makes up this shit? Anyway, once again, sorry as hell about Alex. But keep rockin' Lizzy! That's what Alex would have wanted! And I still have yet to see you in concert!;) Hope to see you on the road one of these days!

I worked with Alex for many years and he was a part of our department between our CA and MA offices. Alex worked in our Irvine office as both a software developer and as a consultant. He worked in my department and was always easy to talk to. Wish Angel the best and hope she can lean on her friends to get thru this tough time. From Virginia where he showcased his guitar skills in a rockin hotel room party to CA and his frequent visit to MASS and plenty of places in between, you will be missed. From the Esko-Graphics(Barco, Artios) group in Ludlow we send our condolences

I am so shocked about Alex's death, my sister told me earlier this evening and I hardly felt a thing until a few hours later it hit. He was such a nice, humble, down to earth and friendly guy. My first Lizzy Borden show, he chatted with me like there was nothing to it, after being treated so nicely by all I went to more and more shows, every time he remembered my name and treated my sis and I with much kindness. I remember hanging out in Ft. Collins before a show with him and a few others, one of the best "shows" I never saw, it turned out to be... but such memories I have now and how the whole Lizzy Borden band changed my life, really, in many ways. I will miss him so much, I pray his family and friends will get by and be comforted by his memory. - Lisa

Since I heard the news Tuesday morning, I have felt empty inside. My thoughts keep returning to November 1985. A year I will always remember, while touring in Texas we were fortunate enough to hook up a few shows with Lizzy while on his MMRS. I was fortunate enough to become aquanted with Alex and hung out with him before and after the shows. He was every bit a friend, funny and great guy. I was fortunate enough to catch them on the "Devil" tour here and was able to talk to Alex and the band and even tho he didn't remember me or my band, he was still very cool. We joked about the "old days" and shared a few brews and got some pictures. One of he and I now sets on my entertainment center, as a tribute to a great musician, friend and person.. If I'd only known when we shook hands and said goodbye that night that it would have been our last, I would've told him what an effect having met, known and talked to him all those times, that I am truly blessed just having met him. Thank you Lizzy for giving the fans a chance to witness the talent that Alex possessed and his true personality we all grew to love. You are in my thoughts Angel. If you ever need anything, please feel free to contact. Rest in peace Alex. I will never forget you bro.

We would like to express our deepest sympathies to Angel, all of Alex's family, friends, and fans. We are both longtime fans, but we didn't get to meet Alex until 2002. He was very nice to us. It's very sad that we won't get a chance to see him again. He was very professional in everything that he did. He played all the songs, even the old ones, with a lot of feeling and a lot of heart. We both will miss him. I hope he's getting to jam with Randy Rhoads & everyone that we've so tragically lost. God bless you, Alex. Love, your fans, Joe and Michelle

Alex was a very good programmer, a little jumpy at times, but overall excellent guy. No words can be said to ease the pain of those who love him dear - May you all, especially Angel, find comfort and peace from God's words - "Come to Me all of you who are heavily laden - and I will give you rest..." Dearest Alex! My friend and former co-worker from when you worked as a software programmer at Artios/Barco Graphics. We had some fun times. I'll never forget the AUGI meeting in San Antonio. The last morning we ditched the meetings and went out on the Riverwalk to escape the boredom. I remember you told me that you were going to ask Angel to marry you when you got back. And I was happy for you because you were excited and so much in love. I will miss you always, my friend! Janis

It seems it was just yesterday when we all met at the Rainbow and you lived "just down the street". Alex you will be truly missed by everybody no matter where they are in this world at this very moment. One day we'll all be united again. I'll light a candle in your name here on the other side of the Atlantic. Angel - I wish you plenty of strength to make it through this horrible time. My thoughts are always with you. I met Alex several years ago. He was a very talented and very nice guy with lots of dreams and ambition. Seems everyone he ever met says the same things. This is such a tragic loss for all of you that knew him well. Please try to find comfort that by knowing Alex, that your lives were better for it, and that he enriched you all in some way, even for the short time that he was here. Sympathies and prayers to his wife, family, friends and bandmates! RIP Alex!

Lizzy Borden was the first band I ever saw at the Country Club, and Alex was in the band by that time. To me, he was one of the pair of original guitarists in Lizzy, along with Gene. This situation is tragic, as a vital young life has been lost. Love and condolences to Alex's family and friends. He will be missed. Mark Mojica Sylvania, OH 5/19/04

Dear Mrs. Nelson I was so sorry to hear of the death of your husband. I can understand how central he is in your life and can only guess at how devastated you must be feeling. Over the years Alex has brought joy and happiness to me and many others with his wise, funny and witty personality. There will be other precious attributes that you will miss- please know that I am thinking of you and hoping that the feelings of loneliness become less painful soon. Please take good care of yourself and your family.

Back in 1981-1982 Alex use to give me guitar lessons amd I'll always remember how he'd take the time to draw the fret board then write up a bunch of scales for me to learn. Then he'd make me do tons of down/up ,down/up, down/up picking exercises. I was just a kid and I'll aways remember and appreciate how nice he was. Alex was truely a talented and special person.

To all that Alex had the pleasure of meeting along his exciting and soulful journey, please except my heartfelt thanks for your kind thoughts and memories of my beloved husband. It has been the most horrific incident and he will remain in mine and many hearts, that have had the opportunity to share a piece of sunshine at one point in their lives with my sweet Alex. Many will be pleased to hear that alcohol did not contribe to the car accident as many have been misinformed. I recieved the report today and there was not a trace of alcohol found in his body. This relieves me and many others hearts. One car walked away without injury, the other was released the next day with minor injuries. I hope this lends to less confussion about this terrible misfortune. Once again thanks to all for your well wishes. Sincerely Angel Nelson

Hi it's Danny from "Reality Check T.V." in San Francisco.I'm absolutely devastated on hearing this sad news. The times I've gotten to hang out with the Lizzy guys I always remembered how cool Alex was & what a talented guitarist he was as well.He even looked out for me at the shows making sure i could get backstage.I was also flattered he went & saw my friends in the band Sparrows Point when they played L.A. I'll be doing a dedication to him on our show this weekend. My sincere condolences to the guys in the band, his wife & family please stay in touch.

I've been a fan of Alex and Lizzy Borden for years. I do a Heavy Metal Radio show in the Midwest in Fargo ND. I jokingly said one day that my greatest accomplishment was getting to play Lizzy Borden on the radio. Now I'm serious when I say that, it's been my honour to play Alex over the airwaves and I will continue to do so as long as I can.

LIZZ MASTER, TIME TO CONFESS MY TREACHERY... THIS EDDIE KEMPSTER GUY REALLY DOESENT LIKE YOU. I'M TRUELY SORRY I HAVENT SENT YOU THE PROMO FOR THE GUITAR SLOT . BASICALLY I WAS DEALING WITH TWO IDIOTS LIKE THIS EDDIE GUY ONE NIGHT. BOTH TWICE MY SIZE. THIS KIND OF SET ME BACK AS FAR AS ANY DAINTY HAND USAGE. SORRY ABOUT DELAYING AT LEAST SUBMITTING SOME IDEAS. But while healing up I did get a copy of the dvd and Visualize re release.... I WAS OFFERED TO REPLACE CARY HOWE IN LEATHERWOLF PENDING DATES WITH HALFORD AND SOME OTHER STUFF BUT CARY RETURNED. SO REALLY EDDIE; STICK IT UP YOUR ASS, THERE ACTUALLY IS INTEREST AMONGST GUITARISTS OUT THERE. BUT I THINK MOST MUSICIANS AND FANS WOULD AGREE, LIZZY ISNT JUST GOING TO TAKE SOME HACK, thanks again for the oppurtunity with the deal tour. I'll try to get you a mix of these new things I've been doing. YOUR STILL ONE OF MY FAVE SINGERS, WWW.DREWZAK.COM

lizzy, this is lisa you kissed me on stage at theater in oakland. You were on tour with Ingwie Malm. I tried to get to alex nelson's email but can't. I'd like to let him know if he's still part of the band that I'm working on originals to go into the studio. The bands name is silent Predator. Alex and I kept in touch over the net concerning our bands. To open up for your band if you come in the pittsburgh area again. Please email me and give me his email to speak about this concern. thankx good luck with the new album, hope to see you in Pittsburgh, Pa. See ya later, Lisa P.

HELL-o. This might sound childish, and even a bit perverted, but I am an old-school Lizzy fan. I also have a slight fetish for clothes-ripping. What I am asking here is if ANYBODY knows where I can get a video of Lizzy's Wacken 2000 appearence which the performance of Psychopath where he rips a girls shirt off?

Hello, here´s a fan from the Canary Islands, so excuse my bad english. My name´s is Jónathan I confess my treachery: my favorite heavy metal band is not WASP since I listened Lizzy, and received fourty (or nineteen?) whacks in my chest and head. Now, since I cannot buy every album(I´ve got the two first complete ones ´till now), I´m looking for the lyrics of certain single songs like Give´m the axe. I´ve been searching in the web, but I´ve seen nothing. I request for this information. Sincerely thanks. LONG LIFE ELISABETH BORDEN! FEMALE SYMBOL OF REBEL WRATH!

lizzy i'm a huge fan from australia in australia there is a large underground metal scene but very few metal bands come here i mean the last big gig we got was judas preist and megadeth and that was over a year ago now and the most recent was destructoin theres even very few local acts coming to australia it would be a great tour to do because we are all thirsty metalheads with no metal gigs to go to and every one loves lizzy

Lizzy I would be honored to be your new guitar player! Infact it has been a life long dream of mine. I've been a fan of your music since the 80's. I thoughtLizzy Borden was gone for all these years! When I starting out and learning to sing I emulated and looked up to Lizzy, Geoff Tate, Helloween, And Maiden as the top vocalists. I used to sing Notorious as a workout! I was at a House of 1000 corpses event and met a screenwriter who said he was friends with the guitarist from Lizzy Borden. I was elated that the band was still around I went home found the website, went to amoeba music bought the cd's and the DVD. I love the newest CD as well. I was dissapointed that I had missed the local LA shows. Will there be any others. Well, I have a band and I make my living as a special make up effects artist. I do a lot of work with bands: Manson, Danzig, Coal Chamber, Otep, Murder Dolls ETC. Lots of videos and album covers. Check out www.ralisfx.com and www.deadbyday.com. Let me knw if you need anything, Ralis

As a man of 37 i appreciate the finer things in life good metal and Lizzy Borden a band in their own class. For them toput out deal with devil during this recession of good music is truly commendable and thank god . Hence why lita ford aint playing , she wont come back till the days of real rock n roll come back. To see lizzy's show live , is to live it. I can say so much for my fav band , but would have pages . One more thing give me the axe and let me know when you are doing some NY dates ? Remeber the good old La Mours days in Bklyn Jim

One of truly the Greatest Bands that Have Graced Our Universe!!!! Lizzy Borden The virtuosity of these members gets more complex with each album ( for the new generation "generation aliens", thats cd)From the first album(ep) up till their latest deal with the devil each one comes with lyrics , riffs , and vocals only you can expect from the band.Musically getting more intense and creative with each dying breath ....

What great show last nite at the Galaxy!!!!I've been following the band since the mid 80's and it's great to still see u on fire with American Metal !! I think the new look is very cool (short hair)I first saw you in hollywood in 1987 The Murderous Metal Roadshow.Since then I've been a fan of yours. Times have changed, but you still play with so much energy, and enthisium, regardless the size of the croud. It seems to me that as long as your around, metal will live on .One thing I noticed last nite, was the bass was up too high. It was difficult to hear anything else.As long as you continue to play, I will contine to show up and support the band!!!!!

I had to listen to Deal With the Devil today. I was watching Jeopardy yesterday & one of the clues said something about "the rest is silence" and then today I heard the words "flesh of my flesh" and I just had to hear "Loving You is Murder." I bought the DWTD cd after seeing Lizzy in 2001, and every time I hear it, it just amazes me. Lizzy, your voice is incredible. I am anxiously awaiting the new cd, and hopefully a tour. :) Lizzy rules! Meow!

He is a great Tour Manager and when I was at that show it seemed that he took over and mad shit happen. The show that you guys did the day before you guys were late adn the next day he had you guys on time. I was at 3 shows and the shows that he took over you guys went on on-time. P.S. Mark you left your camera in the UK at Rockcity. My boyfriends friend Scottie said that he is trying to send it to you. take care julie

I just bought my third copy of Visual Lies this weekend. I have the cassette, the cd, & now the new cd--gotta have those bonus tracks!!! I think they should just put them all on one cd, along with "Born to Be Wild" from the Decline soundtrack. And they should do a new live cd and video. That would be cool. LIZZY RULES! :)

I have followed you all thru your carear and I love all the cd´s you have put out over the years. I love "deal with the devil" but I think it would rule if the next release is darker with harder guitarrs and drums, in the vain of Iced Earth or the magic ot the first with Crimson Glory (my other fav band) or why not a "visual lies" alá 2003. Your time is now!

Try to make to Sweden Rock Festival in Sweden or to Wacken in Germany or why not both????

Cold heavy metal happy hollidays to you! (the cold being that I live in this iced aged place called Sweden)

I've been a fan since I was 16 (now 32). The true metal brilliance of "Love you to Pieces" and "Menace to Society" stands the test of time as under rated yet top notch metal in league with Priest or Maiden. "Deal With the Devil", I feel, is the best cd to come out since those classics and I hope the band continues on this path to create timeless and true metal! Looking forward to your future...

The new DVD was kewl to watch again after all these years. I was totally let down with John Bush, the lamest interview Ive seen. They could of at least dressed up the set with props or some kewl lighting. John asked the lamest questions. His lack of interest in Lizzy as a perfomer was evident. The interview would have been more interesting if Lizzy just sat in front of the camera and ratted his hair out a mile high - peace love and pitbulls

I cannot believe these guys are still around and sound so damn GOOD! Used to see them back in the mid-80's at the Troubador, etc. while hanging out with some of the other bands. Does anyone ever remember when Lizzy's mom called the Troub and they paged him saying that Mrs. Borden was on the phone for him? Anyway, I'm glad they're still kickin'--they have an excellent sound!

Hi I´m just womdering how the cd is coming along and what the sound will be like? A lot heavier I hope, like Iced Earth or Nevermore buty with more melodies! Lizzy´s voice would be so suitable for a little heavier sound! I t will probably go down well with the Iced Earth fans and the die hard Lizzy ones! I realy hope tha´t it´s just a little harder than "Deal with the devil" btw is a real good comeback! Just think "There will be blood tonite" or "loving you is murder" with a little heavier production, awsome I reckon!

One can always hope! Mr Midnight

Np: Crimson Glory "Lady of winter" (another cool band or was that is)

Howdy all. I want to know if anyone has any advice on how to get ahold of the re-mastered editions of the CDs Lizzy has put out. I tried some of the online CD stores but they said they weren't sure if they sold the re-mastered discs or the previously released versions which I already have. The local recoed stores here in Cincinnati haven't been much help either. If anyone out there can lend a helping hand it'd be much appreciated! Feel free to e-mail me at stevegattermeyer@yahoo.com Thanks!

Hi, need to know about Lizzy Borden´s next album, after almost three years of your terrific return of "Deal With The Devil". You should include your video clips on the DVD of "Murderess Metal" and please come to Europe to play this time, specially Spain. Hope to hear and see some more Lizzy Borden Metal soon.

yo! yo! yo! Lizzy I was wondering if you have ever released the videos from the 80's on VHS? and do you plan on releasing a video history type thing on DVD? Metal Blade should make your re-issues enhanced CD's with the old videos like "Me against the world" for example. I would pay good money for that. I'm a die-hard fan and I need my Lizzy video fix. YOU RAWK!

Lizzy if you ever need gigs in San Francisco I can hook you up. My sister books the Warfield & The Fillmore and other places. All I want is a chance to jam with the "best band on planet earth" I think VISUAL LIES is a masterpiece along with everything else you've done. I think it's high time someone at VH1 or MTV give you the credit you deserve. You are the master of metal! Best damn singer ever! and you know how to write a song unlike most people in the industry. Lizzy fan forever! Email me if you need gigs in the Bay Area. I'm in So.Cal

COOL STORY FROM DIE HARD LIZZY FAN: I made a trip to AMOEBA records in Hollywood today and as I was standing in line I looked to my left and some BIG biker dude was trading in the following items LOVE YOU TO PIECES (Vinyl) VISUAL LIES (Vinyl) and THE MURDERESS METAL ROAD SHOW (VHS) I quickly moved position to the buyer guy and said "excuse me are those for sale?" he said they had to be processed so I said "PROCESS THEM!" so he went up stairs priced the stuff and put it into my hot hands. I've always wanted M.M.R.S. on VHS (can't wait for the DVD) Lizzy hope the new record is going well. I saw you guys at the House of Blues awhile back "Great show!!!" I believe in rock 'N' roll!!!

Lizzy, I was there at the GALAXY theatre on April 5th, I was in the front row banging my head and pounding my fist. During "Hell Is For Heroes", you saw me banging my head, so you pointed at me (but I wasn't so far up to the front yet) I was freakin' out! Then, when I got to the front you went right up to me several times and banged your head RIGHT at me. Then, when you were shaking hands during one of the songs in the set, you shook mine and I didn't let go, but some other guy pulled you away. During your preformance, I kept pointing at you and the rest of the band and you all of you looked right at me, that TOTALLY stuck in my mind, can still remember. I would be stupid not to describe what I looked like, cos then you wouldn't remember me. I was the male that had a blue denim jacket on, blue jeans, and was wearing a "Deal With The Devil" tour shirt. Also, I had long hair (right above the shoulders)and look between the ages of 15 - 17 (but I'm 15). I tried waiting for you guys after the show but the security guard said that the band was having an after party. I thought that guy was just trying to harsh up my gig, but i just went home and couldn't sleep thinking about the whole experience. Thanks for giving me one of the GREAEST moments of my life. Hopefully, on the next tour I could get you guys to sign my merchandise and also just talk to you. Until we meet again...

Lizzy, It's been a long time since I got to enjoy one of your shows. I'm sad to say I didn't even know you were in Texas in April. We met in Denver almost ten years ago during your Master of Disguise tour. I was there with a girl who was dating the promoter (Jessie) and got to hang around after everyone else waws kicked out. It was nice to be able to kick back and just talk as people without all the fans giving you the bums rush and telling how much they love you and how you are a god and all that other nonsense.

Actually you inspired me to go ahead and give singing a shot. I sang in a band while stationed in Okinawa, Japan and had a great time. I learned from you about separating the theatrics onstage from the offstage persona. Although I don't sing anymore, professionally, I wouldn't have traded it for the world.

By the way, if you remember, I had a black eye and stiches in the eyelid the night we met. You guys were more interested in how that happened rather than hearing how great you sounded that night. That was really cool. Also while you were waiting for something to be brought to you from the dressing room, nobody seemed to pay any attention to you. I started laughing about how fleeting fame can be...even in the same night, and you talked to me about the being on the road and the good and the bad about being a rock icon.

I'll tell ya...I've met quite a few famous people over the years and I was really surprised how down to earth most have been. I have to say "thanks" on behalf of all your fans. Hopefully you'll make it back down to Texas again this year and I'll get a chance to catch a show again. First round is on me.

I am Addicted!! I went to the Cleveland show in support of one of our local bands. I really had never heard of Lizzy Borden. I blame that on the lame radio stations here. This is the city that has the rock-n-roll hall of fame. What a joke. I was blown away. I purchased Deal With The Devil at the show and the rest of the discs were purchased on Amazon. How did I miss this band during my crazy college days? I was totally in to metal and I didn't recognize any of the tunes but the show was awesome. I am now a fan and I hope they come back. You guys rock--and I had a great time banging my head at your show!!

Whoa, had no idea the message board was starting to explode again... I'll add my useless 2 cents...

Saw them in Virginia 2 weeks ago (dammit, it was that long ago!!?!?! I'm already going thru withdrawals...) and it kicked ass... my baby sis was real excited, she got some blood on her, and like the story I read on here about the guy who took his daughter to the show and she got a kiss and blood, my little sis got just the blood and she didnt wash her hand all nite... it got pretty rough, all 16 hours in the car on the way home (we're from nasty ol' hot-as-fuck FL), she wouldn't go to the bathroom or wash her hand... and had the audacity to stick her hand in the same bag of snackies that I was eating out of. HA...

Anyway... show kicked ASS, tried like HELL to go to the San Diego show that's tomorrow, but it's 21 and up and apparently the bouncers at the club didn't accept my offer of taking my firstborn kid in exchange for getting into the show. Guess I gotta wait till November or something... $*#DAMMIT!!!! Alright I've bitched enough for 10 minutes... if anyone else is going to San Diego tomorrow, say hi to my sis... she'll be the one up front holding up a cellphone so I can hear the show... isn't she a sweetheart... going so I can hear the show... :) - Lis

Just saw the band last night. Really tight show - I wish it would have been promoted - crowd turnout wasn't what it should have been but the band rocked. Hadn't seen them live since the Menace to Society tour (w/ Motorhead & Cro-Mags). I recommend eveyone check them out while they are on the road - really nice guys too. Long live Lizzy.

For the few of us that were smart enough to attend, the Clinton show at the Pigpen was somthing that will never be forgotten, and something that we will cherish for the remainder of our days. To the band I can only say THANK YOU from the bottom of my blackened heart. I've waited over half my life to see you guys and every second of your amazing sonic and visual show was more than could have ever been dreamed. You made me fifteen years old again and that is priceless. You guys were genuine and sincere to your fans and that is sorely missing in todays bloated-ego rock/metal world. THANK YOU again for talking to me, signing my CD jackets, posing for pictures and signing my 12 year old LIzzy shirt (that is now complete with blood regurgitated from the man himself). Your eternal fan...

Thank you, Lizzy Borden, for coming to Iowa and playing a kickass show in Clinton! Been a huge fan since I first saw you, when you hosted Headbanger's Ball with Lips from Anvil. It was the premiere of the Me Against the World video. My friends and I drove many miles to see the show, and drove all night going home. It was well worth the drive.

First, I again say thank you. The Pigpen show made something I never thought possible a screaming live kick-ass reality instead. Lizzy Borden!! My high school musical hero.... 6 inches away from me. Not only did I get the pleasure of seeing the band, I got to talk to you as well, and you all were as friendly and gracious as I dare dreamed, even with the small showing. Please forgive Iowa, Lizzy...a show on the Sunday night before finals week is a rough gig. Five of us happily drove 4 hours to see you, and there would have been more had we not found out so late. I've listened through Deal w/ Devil at least 6 times in 24 hours, and can't wait for the next one. One last thing to say, and I hope you read these, stick around Lizzy--you were missed.

Josh

Went to the Lizzy Show last night in Clinton Iowa, and have to say these guys rocked my world. I have been a Lizzy fanatic for about 15 years. I have listened to all the tapes until they wore out completely. I can't say enough how awesome it was last night. These guys bring it like no one else can. Not alot of bands come out to meet the crazy people that go to their shows, but these guys were ready and willing to talk to us after all was over. I want to personally thank each and everyone of them for helping to make one of my dreams come true. I would like to apologize though for the rather small crowd. If I had been anyone of the band members, I would have been pissed about it. But these guys pleased like no other. Thanks guys for showing the small crowd one hell of a show. Can't wait for the new Disc to come out, and for the next tour. I hope you come back to Iowa again. I know I'll be there ready to rock the night. Keep up the great work.

WOW!!! My ears are still smoking from your show last night at the PigPen in Clinton, IA... You boyzzz put on a show like there was 50,000 screaming fans in the audience, just glad I was there to see it first hand. I had no idea that LZ had taken their music to the next level. I'm tired of listening to these lam assed kiddy bands and some dork grunty over the same junky grunge crap. Lizzy Borden's is one of the undisputed king of leather and metal that keeps hard headed rockers like myself opening their eyes everyday hoping for something better than what the music industry keeps trying to cram down our throats. I'm in the band that opened for you guys last night and would just like to point out how thankful all of us are for our day jobs. Everyone of us will soon add your new CD to our collection. Please try to add a show date somewhere nearer to the Quad Cities in the future. We can't wait to see you again. Thanks again, Retzel

I saw the show last Saturday in VA, and they kicked ass! Having Lizzy sweat on me and look at me with those pretty eyes and getting to touch him was worth having my toe crushed by some drunk dude. I got chills when I first saw Lizzy in Decline of Western Civilization 2, and I still get Lizzy chills. I met him after the show and asked for a hug, and it was a beautiful moment for me. I adore Lizzy, and I hope I get to meet him again. Marten is a sweetheart, too. He's adorable. By the way, anyone who doesn't have Deal With the Devil needs to get it. It should be an example to everyone who is in a band. This is how it's done. I LOVE YOU LIZZY!!!!!! Lizzy's Bad Kitty ^..^

Hello , it was just yesterday , ging to high school and meeting up with friends, to converse about Lizzy borden , we just enveyed joey scott, (at the time we were Drummers) - I saw them here in sunny Myrtle beach SC , at House of blues, (No i was not the guy who threw the beer can at the guitar player ! it was the other guy i was talkin to , how ever seemed as tho the guitar player figured i was guilty any way , so fuck him) I still love the Deal with the devil CD it was unfortunate he wasnt availible for autographs, even tho he didnt play on all the records any way , hate to be a prune , but my feeling were hurt , to think id voided trust in a person i admired, but any way - forget that , . just wanted to say cant get deal with the devil out of My CD player! it is tottaly over the edge! worth every penny , and glad i got to get my ass kicked by them Live Here! see you on the Radio! joey Crosby

Last night's show at Jarrod's ruled...you guys confirmed my belief that you are indeed the best band in the universe. Sorry about the turnout, we tried as hard as we could to get people down there, but people are obviously dumb and don't knows what's good for them. American metal triumphs anyway. RAVAGE IN PEACE!!! Best gig ever! P.S. Next time play "Give em the axe"

saw my first Lizzy Borden show last night at Jarrods----shame it wasn't a bigger venue as it seemed nearly a cage to the energy I saw that WANTED to be released had the space been available. Suffice it to say it was an incredible show.

Hey everyone! Went to the long awaited show in Houston last thursday night. It was awesome!!! My 14 year old Daughter has been waiting to see you guys since she was very small..Cut her teeth on master of disguise!!!I loved every minute of the show. The turn out was small, as usual for Houston, having no metal radio support, all who where there got to see a great show. My daughter and i got to get right up against the stage. This really made Erin happy!!! Lizzy wiped Lizzy Blood on my daughters hand,,and close to the end of the show she stood up on her chair and Lizzy gave her a kiss on the cheek..This was an awesome experience for her!!! She took her lizzy blood stained hand and kissed cheek to school the next morning to show and tell all of her friends!!! Thanks Lizzy! for another great metal show!! and for making two generations of lizzy fans very happy!!!my Daughter tells me every day...ha ha you did not get a kiss from lizzy!!!!cant wait to see you all again!!!! Keep up the great work, and good luck with the rest of the tour!!! Gregg and Erin Hyma

My band LIFESIZE opened up for Lizzy Borden last Wed (April 10th) in Dallas. I thought Lizzy and his band put on one hell of a show and he seemed like a real cool down to earth guy at soundcheck. Cool show and good luck with the rest of the tour!

The show in Austin Tx on Tuesday kicked ass. According to the annoucement they made there were about a thousand people in attendance(sorry Lizzy). I had a good time at the show. I had talked to Lizzy, Alex, and Martin before and even after the show. They were even cool enough to let me take some pics of the show and with them(thanks Neil).

There's not enough room to put my full URL, so here it is again...www.geocities.com/bengaren (the web-master should probably change the cell properties to accept more characters.)

I saw you guys last night in Dallas...I was a roadie for ASKA...although I'm a musician at heart. I was very impressed with the outstanding musicianship of each of the band's members!! In addition, the vocal melodies and harmonies were complex and interesting, and the stage show was fantastic! Everything was truly professional!!

I've been playing guitar for 19 years now, learned violin at 4, piano at 8, cello from age 9, and switched to guitar at 16. I studied cello at Interlochen School for the Performing Arts in Michigan, Schweinfurt Muzikschule in Germany, and have a B.A. in Humanities (Music, Art, English), and a B.A. in Education. But I love to rock & roll. Of course, I like to weave classical and baroque elements into many of my hard-rock compositions.

As far as guitarist style, mine is based mostly on the melodic/bluesy style of Adrian Smith. But I also like the alternate picking techniques of Yngwei, (although he's a prick, from what I've heard about Lizzy's unfortunate experience with him last year). Other musicians who've influenced my style are Jimi Hendrix, Alen Holdsworth, Al Di Meola, Michael Schenker, Neal Schon, Michael Angelo, Matthias Jabs, and many others.

I moved to Arlington, Texas last month from Clarksville, Tennessee. I was stationed with the 5th Special Forces Group at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. I worked for the Army for 6 years as a Telecommunications Operator/Maintainer. During a NATO assignment in Izmir, Turkey, I saw ASKA on a USO tour and gave each member my demo, which received VERY favorable feedback from each member! (Actually, I've won two awards for my songs: one from the 1987 TDK/Billboard Songwriters' Contest, and one from the 1999 Sennheiser Evolution Band Contest.) I kept corresponding with George Call and decided to move down here to Arlington to become a protege of ASKA and get closer to the Metroplex music scene in general. I'm still searching for the right mix of band members to wage a full-on assault on the hard-rock/heavy-metal world!

ASKA's already got a full stage of talent...so, if you know of anyone who needs a hard-rock/heavy-metal guitarist/keyboardist/song-writer please send them my way!!

I'm proud to be a new Lizzy Borden convert and part of the international network of Lizzy Borden fans!!!

Re: NM traveler, The Canyon Club in Dallas is a great place to see 'not so popular anymore but still cool' metal. It's the perfect size with max capacity of about 700. I've seen a bunch of shows there including King Diamond, W.A.S.P., Dio, and the ill-fated show last year with Yngwie when Lord Obesity didn't allow Lizzy to hang his backdrop and Lizzy never played. Plus you've got the locals that may show up like Dimebag, Vinnie, or The King. I'll see you there!

I'd say by the looks of the Lizzy's Girls section, that he has some "titillated"fans!! Get 'er doooooone!! Nice Saran Wrap, Britney!(oops, she did it again...) I have never seen Lizzy live, but have alot of his albums -even have updated my cassette collection to CD!(yeah ,I'm old!) I wish Lizzy the absolute best success -you deserve it!! It's great to hear real metal again ! The 90's were a dry period! Can't wait to hear the new album!
